Job Description for Journeyman Electrician

We are seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician who is highly motivated, service-driven, and a true team player. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, dependable, and committed to contributing to our continued success, and has extensive experience in electrical work across various settings including residential and commercial service work. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
• Collaborate with construction teams or project managers to ensure proper installation of electrical components.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with local, city, state, and national electrical codes
• Utilize job management software efficiently
• Provide excellent customer service with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Have the ability and/or willingness to learn how to estimate job labor and material costs and present them to customers
• Effectively communicate job progress with the office, team members, and management
• Work with and effectively communicate with local inspectors to ensure compliance and project approval
• Troubleshoot and repair residential and commercial electrical issues
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams is a plus
• Gather necessary materials and tools for daily tasks
• Install conduits using hand, mechanical, or hydraulic benders
• Install new wiring in existing systems and repair old wiring
• Operate and navigate a company vehicle safely

Skills and Attributes:

• Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician in residential and commercial
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team
• Sales experience is a plus
• Commitment to safety
• Willingness to travel is a plus

Additional Details and Requirements:

Schedule: Monday – Friday, ranging from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime may be required)

Certification: Must be a Certified Journeyman Electrician in the State of Idaho Driver’s

License: Valid driver’s license required

Travel: Occasional travel may be necessary; flexibility is a plus
